    Hope in the Light Ministry:  A Christ centered ministry offering hope to the children of Haiti - medical care, education, and now a home at their new orphanage.  Help them make a difference in this hurting world.

We are often asked about local dining and lodging.  We are closest to Afton and Hudson and about equal distances to Woodbury and Stillwater.  If you are looking for chains, you can find them - lots of convenience, not a lot of memories.  So, I will highlight some of the memory makers and you can check them out...

Food: 
 
    The Current and the Wheelroom are both located in historic downtown Afton within the Afton House Inn.  The first is a fresh, upscale bar and grill the second an award winning restaurant offering fine dining; this establishment won't leave you wanting - they also offer an ice cream parlor, a coffee shop, and a wine bar.  

    The Bungalow is located less than a mile from our launch site; this neighborhood bar and grill reminds many of a popular chain restaurant - only better!    

   Borderline Bar, offering great pizza, sandwiches, and libations, this sports bar is right next door.  

    The Lake Elmo Inn offers "world class dining, close to home."  It's a bit farther away, but we hope you won't mind if we call it part of the "neighborhood" anyway.  Their  Sunday brunch has been voted the best in the Twin Cities for ten consecutive years - needless to say, the rest of their food is amazing as well - truly a memorable culinary experience.

   The Freight House is a historic, renovated train station.  This huge, beautiful restaurant offers excellent food, a great patio, and a fun atmosphere right in downtown Stillwater. 


Lodging:


    Afton House Inn - a historic inn nestled along the St Croix river in downtown Afton boasting fireplaces, jacuzzis, award winning fine dining,cruises, and so much more.    

    Water Street Inn - a pseudo historic luxury hotel in downtown Stillwater.  Relax on the waterfront in front of a smoldering fire!  

   Wildwood Lodge in Woodbury.  A new luxury hotel that doesn't fit the mold.  Scrumptious bedding and a wonderful pool are just two amenities that you may find enticing.
